Aircraft Mechanical Fitter (Aviation)

Location: RAF Shawbury, Shropshire, United Kingdom. The role is primarily based onsite at RAF Shawbury, with rare work at other sites. Monday–Thursday: 07:30–16:30; Friday: 07:00–13:00.

What you will do

• Assist Certifying Engineers in delivering serviceable aircraft for the daily flying programme.
• Complete aircraft maintenance activities under the direction of Maintenance Supervisors.
• Support maintenance of airframe structures, power plants, mechanical systems, and electrical systems under supervision.
• Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain high standards to support continued safe aircraft operation.
• Support hangar operations, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping.

Requirements

• Level 3 vocational qualification in aircraft engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience in an aviation engineering environment.
• Knowledge of UK CAA regulations, engine systems, and airframe systems.
• Ability to work in a team, communicate effectively, organise work, and act independently.
• Current legal right to work in the United Kingdom is required.
• Must be able to obtain SC clearance, generally requiring five years of UK residence, and must complete a BPSS check.

Nice to have

• For the Fitter-to-LAE pathway: at least six completed UK CAA Part 66 B2 modules and more than three years of documented experience.
