Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician

Location: Peterlee, County Durham, United Kingdom. Onsite role with rotating three-shift coverage, Monday to Saturday, and up to 5% travel for training and development.

Salary: £44,567 including shift allowance; additional paid overtime available.

What you will do

• Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown maintenance across the facility.
• Diagnose PLC issues and implement program changes.
• Use computerized maintenance management systems, including SAP PM and Agility, to review breakdown data and record recovery actions.
• Identify breakdown root causes and implement effective countermeasures.
• Complete dynamic risk assessments and follow health and safety procedures.
• Maintain automated metal-cutting and paint equipment, robotic welding systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, AGVs, presses, cranes, and other production equipment.

Requirements

• Recognized apprenticeship in a mechanical or electrical discipline, ONC, BTEC, NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance or Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience with PLCs and mechanical and electrical maintenance and fault-finding in a manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical aptitude, technical troubleshooting ability, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong commitment to safety, including following procedures and identifying hazards.
• Ability to communicate effectively, work independently, and contribute to a team.
• Proactive attitude toward continuous improvement and willingness to complete further training.

Nice to have

• NEBOSH or IOSH qualification, or evidence of safety improvement activities.
