Legal Counsel (AI)

Location: On-site in Berlin, Germany; work from the Berlin office on Greifswalder Strasse 212

Salary: €80,000–€120,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Negotiate enterprise customer agreements from initial discussions through signature, including SaaS agreements, DPAs, security terms, AI terms, and DORA addenda.
• Translate the AI Act, DORA, NIS2, the Data Act, and sector-specific regulations into concrete product and business requirements.
• Shape contracts for data centers and cloud services, including power, hardware, infrastructure, and customer terms.
• Advise on employment law, corporate housekeeping, data protection, and ongoing ISO 27001 and SOC 2 compliance.
• Build and maintain agents, playbooks, evaluations, and internal automations for self-service legal work.
• Provide product feedback based on hands-on use of AI tools and legal workflows.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with at least two years of in-house experience at a technology company or advising technology companies.
• Experience negotiating SaaS agreements and DPAs with enterprise counterparties.
• Experience building an agent, workflow, clause library, script, or template system with measurable impact.
• Technical understanding of SaaS products, including databases, APIs, integrations, and basic architecture.
• Fluent German and English required; German-law employment and contract work makes German necessary.
• Ability to assess legal risks clearly and determine which risks should stop a deal or product feature.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI regulation, DORA, NIS2, the Data Act, ISO 27001, or SOC 2.
• Experience advising regulated enterprise customers or financial-services organizations.
