Portfolio Manager (Insurance)

Location: Leeds, UK — hybrid working with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home

What you will do

• Lead pricing model calibration and portfolio analysis across multiple product lines.
• Analyze portfolio performance, identify trends, and recommend actions to improve profitability.
• Deliver strategic insights that influence underwriting, pricing, and growth decisions.
• Support pricing for new products, schemes, and delegated authority business.
• Develop dashboards, management information, and analytical tools for business decision-making.
• Partner with underwriters, distribution leaders, and executive stakeholders while helping build the portfolio management function.

Requirements

• Qualified Actuary status.
• Significant experience in insurance pricing and portfolio management.
• Proven experience calibrating and developing pricing models.
• Strong analytical and data manipulation skills, including experience with SQL, Databricks, Python, or similar tools.
• Ability to work autonomously, own complex projects, and translate technical insights into business recommendations.
• Outstanding communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.

Nice to have

• Commercial lines insurance experience.
• Personal lines experience combined with strong pricing expertise and commercial judgment.
