Director of Product (AI)

Location: Remote; all applicants must currently reside in the United States. Travel up to 25% may be required. Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret clearance is required.

What you will do

• Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, roadmap, investment priorities, sequencing, and lifecycle decisions for the Ask Sage platform.
• Lead product discovery and validation with government, national-security, commercial, and internal stakeholders.
• Own the end-to-end development process across backend and frontend engineering, including planning, execution, acceptance, releases, and post-release learning.
• Manage, coach, and develop developers, designers, and product owners while hiring three to four additional team members.
• Partner with engineering, UX, operations, security, compliance, delivery, go-to-market, and executive teams.
• Incorporate security, privacy, identity, compliance, data-handling, accreditation, and air-gapped deployment requirements into product decisions.

Requirements

• At least six years of progressively responsible experience in product management, product ownership, or related technology-product leadership.
• Direct management experience with software developers, designers, and product owners as a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience leading complex enterprise software, SaaS, platform, API, developer-platform, AI, data, or cloud products.
• Experience delivering products to U.S. government, defense, national-security, or highly regulated customers.
• Experience with product strategy, roadmap prioritization, discovery, development, launch, measurement, and lifecycle management.
• Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum principles, strong cross-functional communication, and the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with generative AI, machine learning, AI platforms, model orchestration, AI agents, retrieval-augmented generation, model APIs, or AI developer tools.
• Familiarity with FedRAMP, DoD impact levels, authorization boundaries, zero-trust principles, controlled data, or classified environments.
• Experience with SaaS, dedicated cloud, on-premises, edge, or air-gapped deployment models.
• Active DoD Secret clearance or higher and experience scaling product organizations or operating models.
