Senior Staff Product Manager (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, New York City, or Seattle, United States

Base compensation: $204,000–$283,000 in San Francisco/New York City or $183,000–$255,000 in other US locations, plus equity.

Writer develops an enterprise generative AI platform that enables organizations to build and deploy AI agents using company data and enterprise-grade large language models.

What you will do

• Drive complex product initiatives from discovery and problem definition through launch, adoption, and iteration across multiple squads and product surfaces.
• Shape product strategy, multi-quarter roadmaps, and sequenced priorities with the VP of Product and product leadership.
• Engage enterprise buyers, end users, and prospects to identify unmet needs and validate product direction.
• Partner with engineering and design on requirements, technical tradeoffs, LLMs, agents, platform architecture, and data.
• Align go-to-market, sales, marketing, customer success, and executive stakeholders around strategy and outcomes.
• Define success metrics, evaluate impact, mentor PMs, and raise the standard of product craft across the organization.

Requirements

• 8+ years of product management experience shipping complex, high-impact products.
• Senior- or staff-level experience operating autonomously across ambiguous, multi-team problem spaces.
• Experience in SaaS, platforms, infrastructure, or AI/ML-driven environments.
• Technical credibility in system design, LLM capabilities, data, and architecture.
• Strong strategic thinking, execution, customer research, communication, and stakeholder alignment skills.
• Experience defining outcome-based metrics and mentoring other product managers.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM-powered products, generative AI, or large-scale AI/ML systems.
• Background in enterprise software, developer platforms, or developer-facing products.
• Familiarity with AI governance, guardrails, and deploying AI in regulated or high-stakes environments.
