Field Hardware Technician (IoT)

Location: USA; frequent travel to customer, partner, pilot, and test sites is required

What you will do

• Install, configure, calibrate, validate, and troubleshoot vehicle-mounted cameras, telematics devices, power connections, wiring harnesses, and related equipment.
• Support enterprise pilots from pre-installation preparation through completion and closeout.
• Travel to customer, partner, pilot, and test locations to assess vehicles and resolve hardware issues.
• Collect controlled video and test-case data for computer-vision and AI model training by safely staging target driving scenarios.
• Document diagnostics, completed work, field findings, recurring issues, and recommended next steps.
• Collaborate with customers, installers, partners, engineering, product, support, and Vision teams.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, wiring, power connections, or automotive electronics.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, diagnostic equipment, test equipment, and installation materials.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues systematically and identify likely root causes.
• Ability to follow detailed installation, calibration, testing, and data-collection procedures and document technical work accurately.
• Ability to work independently in vehicle bays, parking lots, customer sites, and outdoor locations while maintaining safety, privacy, and security standards.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 70% of the time; U.S. work eligibility is verified through E-Verify.

Nice to have

• Experience with vehicle-mounted cameras, telematics devices, GPS equipment, networking, or connected-vehicle technology.
• Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in Automotive Technology, Electrical or Electronics Technology, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, Computer Systems, or a related field.
• Equivalent education and/or related work experience.
