Environmental Counsel (Chemistry)

Salary: $141,120–$220,500 annual base pay; annual bonus target: 16%

What you will do

• Provide practical, real-time legal advice to U.S. business clients in Wilmington and at manufacturing sites.
• Coordinate with in-house counsel on legal issues spanning multiple subject areas and countries.
• Advise on environmental legal projects involving administrative actions, litigation, remediation, government affairs, regulatory agencies, and business stakeholders.
• Engage and manage internal and external legal resources for assigned matters.
• Develop legal strategies, define scopes of work, set budgets, control costs, manage outside counsel, and meet deadlines.

Requirements

• Experience providing environmental legal advice to business clients and manufacturing operations.
• Ability to manage administrative actions, litigation, regulatory matters, and remediation-related projects.
• Strong stakeholder collaboration and communication skills across business, corporate, regulatory, and legal functions.
• Ability to manage legal budgets, outside counsel, deadlines, and project deliverables.
