Patient Access Associate Specialist - PRN (Healthcare)

Location: Onsite at Ardent - UT Health Athens in Athens, Texas; limited to candidates who reside and are authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform admitting and patient access duties for hospital patients while following organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, process physician orders, collect demographic and insurance information, and provide patient instructions.
• Complete pre-registration, insurance eligibility verification, medical necessity screening, and point-of-service collections.
• Explain and distribute consent, Medicare, TRICARE, observation, and other required patient forms; obtain signatures and document completion.
• Operate the telephone switchboard and provide compassionate customer service to patients, guarantors, colleagues, and departments.
• Audit accounts, correct documentation issues, and provide reporting data to Patient Access leadership.

Requirements

• Must work onsite in Athens, Texas.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• Inquisitiveness and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvements.
• CRCR certification required within six months of hire; certification is company-paid.
