Medical Assistant - PRN

Location: New York City, New York; work is performed at health centers across Manhattan.

Salary: $22.00–$27.00 per hour

What you will do

• Float between Manhattan health centers and perform front- and back-office medical assistant duties.
• Interview patients and measure vital signs, including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient health records.
• Prepare treatment rooms and clean and sterilize instruments.
• Administer medications and injections, perform laboratory tests, operate EKGs and other permitted diagnostic equipment.
• Support front-desk operations, including appointment scheduling, follow-up calls, and ordering medical supplies.

Requirements

• National Medical Assisting certification from an approved organization, or a certificate/diploma and transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with a completed hands-on externship; fully online courses are not accepted.
• Current hands-on Basic Life Support certification for healthcare providers from AHA, ARC, or an equivalent organization.
• Strong phlebotomy skills.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience is preferred.
• Availability for Monday–Friday day shifts scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., with the ability to pick up multiple shifts each month and potentially work five days per week.
