Field Property Claims Adjuster III - Mid Atlantic Region (Flex Claims Professional) (Property Claims)

Location: Maryland; ideal candidates may reside in Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Ohio, or Western Pennsylvania. The role involves up to 80% travel, field property inspections, overnight deployments, irregular hours, on-call availability, and required catastrophe duty.

Salary: $79,500–$148,500 annually; expected starting range: $79,500–$119,500.

What you will do

• Handle complex, serious, and catastrophic property claims from initial investigation through settlement.
• Determine policy coverage, establish reserves, recommend settlement values, and control loss and litigation costs.
• Write estimates, inspect property loss sites, evaluate repair requirements, and apply local market pricing.
• Investigate claims and partner with the Special Investigation Unit and Subrogation to identify fraud and recovery opportunities.
• Prepare files for litigation, trial, or subrogation and maintain accurate claim activity in business systems.
• Act for the Claims Manager, mentor less experienced associates, and support training and presentations.

Requirements

• At least five years of property claims, insurance processing, or field claims adjusting experience.
• Solid Xactimate proficiency and experience writing estimates and handling claims through completion.
• Knowledge of insurance principles, policy coverage, investigation, settlement, property estimating, and automated claims systems.
• Strong customer service, analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Successful completion of required claims certification courses; state licensing where required.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to climb ladders and inspect rooftops up to an 8/12 pitch, work outdoors in all weather, travel extensively, and work catastrophe assignments are required.
