Claim Specialist - Property Field Inspection

Location: Boise/Meridian, Idaho, United States. Candidates must reside within the listed service-area ZIP codes and work in the field from a home-based mobile office/vehicle, with occasional virtual work from home and possible travel to other territories.

Salary: $63,089.65–$90,000 annually, plus potential incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Conduct on-site inspections of residential and commercial property damage.
• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000.
• Evaluate coverage, policy terms, regulations, evidence, and repair-related information.
• Document findings and prepare detailed reports using mobile and desktop tools.
• Communicate with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders, including during difficult conversations.
• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits.

Requirements

• Residence within the assigned Boise/Meridian, Idaho service territory is required.
• Ability to investigate problems, evaluate information, interpret policies, and make well-supported decisions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, overtime, and irregular hours when needed.
• Physical ability to walk, bend, kneel, lift, climb ladders, traverse roofs, and crawl in tight spaces.
• Valid driver's license required; safety training, licensing exams, motor-vehicle checks, and background checks may be required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, insurance, business, construction management, or a related field.
• Property insurance and claims-handling knowledge.
• Residential and commercial construction knowledge, including building materials and water mitigation.
• Experience with Xactimate and XactContents.
