Senior Specialist, Environmental

What you will do

• Manage environmental compliance activities for the hirify.global Eagle Valley Generating Station.
• Collect, analyze, verify, and maintain environmental data, permits, reports, inspections, and compliance documentation.
• Maintain the site environmental management system, track objectives, support audits, and close corrective actions.
• Review operational and environmental data to identify permit deviations, compliance trends, deficiencies, and regulatory concerns.
• Provide compliance guidance, coaching, and training to operations, maintenance, leadership, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Support permitting, regulatory changes, inspections, agency interactions, environmental budgets, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 2 years of environmental compliance experience in industrial, manufacturing, utility, energy, or similarly regulated environments.
• Working knowledge of environmental regulations and industrial compliance requirements.
• Experience in one or more areas including air quality, water compliance, waste management, environmental reporting, monitoring, or multimedia compliance programs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to support occasional work outside standard hours, travel to other hirify.global locations, and meet business travel requirements; a valid driver’s license or equivalent ability is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in utility, power generation, manufacturing, chemical processing, or another highly regulated industry.
• Knowledge of Clean Air Act compliance, Title V permitting, emissions reporting, CEMS, NPDES, stormwater, wastewater, spill prevention, hazardous waste, PCB, DOT, asbestos, or remediation programs.
• Experience with environmental audits, corrective action systems, compliance management systems, training programs, or environmental performance management.
• Experience interacting with environmental regulatory agencies or holding a wastewater treatment operator license or similar certification.
