Senior Environmental Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Decatur, Alabama, United States; full-time onsite five days per week. Travel may include up to 10% domestic or international travel. Relocation may be authorized.

Expected compensation: $124,127–$151,710 annually, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

• Support environmental compliance programs through data collection, recordkeeping, testing, and regulatory reporting.
• Lead environmental compliance projects for a chemical plant, film manufacturing plant, and wastewater treatment operations.
• Implement environmental management systems, compliance programs, processes, and employee training.
• Identify improvement opportunities, develop strategic plans, and track corrective actions through completion.
• Collaborate with engineers, leaders, operations, maintenance, and contractors to integrate compliance requirements into site activities.
• Provide on-call support during emergency response events and support corporate environmental performance initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a science discipline.
• At least five years of environmental compliance and reporting experience.
• At least five years of working knowledge of federal and/or state environmental regulations, including RCRA, CWA, CAA, and/or TSCA.
• Must work onsite in Decatur, Alabama, five days per week.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.
• May need to meet U.S. person status requirements related to export-controlled information and U.S. Government contracts.

Nice to have

• Seven years of environmental compliance experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment and with environmental regulatory reporting.
• Experience with hazardous waste management, wastewater permitting, stormwater permits, spill control plans, EPCRA, TSCA, process safety management, or multimedia compliance auditing.
