Senior Wind Project Engineer

Location: Louisville, Colorado, United States; up to 25% travel to project locations and partner offices.

Salary: $113,000–$141,525 per year, plus annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead technical and engineering activities for wind projects across development, construction, and operations.
• Perform due diligence, constructability reviews, equipment selection, and preliminary balance-of-plant design covering civil works, foundations, collection systems, substations, and gen-ties.
• Coordinate engineering consultants and review construction drawings, design deliverables, commissioning reports, and system performance.
• Prepare and manage RFPs, compare bids, recommend awards, and support BOP, switchyard, EPC, and turbine supply contract negotiations.
• Support construction by responding to RFIs, reviewing change orders, conducting QA/QC inspections, and developing punch lists.
• Provide technical leadership, safety oversight, troubleshooting support, mentoring, and process improvement.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in wind system design, development, construction, and analysis.
• Experience with MV collection systems, substations, gen-ties, interconnection switchyards, site civil work, turbine foundations, and geotechnical engineering.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS software, and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work in Louisville, Colorado, with up to 25% travel to project locations and partner offices.
• Strong communication, task management, planning, technical leadership, and contractor coordination skills.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of wind project experience.
• Experience with energy storage or PV system design and modeling.
• Graduate degree in Engineering, EIT or PE qualifications, and substation or high-voltage design experience.
• Experience with ArcGIS, Matlab, ETAP, PSS/E, and other advanced modeling tools.
• OSHA 10-hour or comparable job-site safety certification.
