Senior Design Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end engineering lifecycle for aircraft structures and systems installations, from concept and detailed design through production and shop-floor support.
• Ensure designs comply with certification standards and prepare engineering change and modification proposals.
• Provide engineering guidance on repairs for in-service aircraft and components.
• Resolve manufacturing challenges and issue formal engineering dispositions for non-conformances and defects.
• Lead trade studies, make design decisions, prepare progress reports, and represent engineering in technical and customer meetings.
• Direct and coach junior design engineers while delivering technical outputs to schedule, cost, and quality requirements.

Requirements

• HNC or equivalent qualification in an engineering-related subject.
• At least 3 years of relevant design engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with metallic and composite structures and/or systems installation design.
• Experience using CATIA V5 or similar 3D CAD tools and standard engineering software.
• Ability to analyze and solve technical problems with accountability for delivery, cost, quality, and timing.
• Clear technical communication and effective collaboration across site and group-level teams.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Fibersim and/or Enovia.
• Experience supporting concessions.
• Wing structure knowledge.
