Head of Engineering - A220 Wing Development (Aerospace)

Location: Belfast, United Kingdom; frequent travel within the UK and internationally.

What you will do

• Lead a multi-skilled engineering team delivering A220 wing development commitments on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
• Deliver major and minor industrial and plant modifications, including solutions for major in-service problems.
• Support test facilities and ensure product performance, quality, and reliability.
• Lead engineering integration across the assigned portfolio and coordinate technical inputs from multiple disciplines.
• Manage project plans, resources, financial plans, budgets, and supplier offload activities.
• Drive digital transformation initiatives and represent the A220 wing team with chief engineers, programme teams, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Engineering degree with at least 10 years of engineering-environment experience, or HNC-level engineering qualification with at least 15 years of experience.
• Proven experience leading a large engineering or project team covering integration, static stress, F&DT, design, and systems installation.
• Strong project management, communication, negotiation, influence, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage complex priorities, challenging deadlines, budgets, and stakeholder relationships.
• Ability to complete BPSS and Export Control checks, including a criminal record check.

Nice to have

• Previous aerospace experience.
• Interest in progressing toward a Wing Architect development path.
