Senior Systems Analyst (Financial Services)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid schedule with 4 days in the office and 1 day working remotely each week

What you will do

• Provide direct application support to Traders, Trade Co-Ordinators, Portfolio Managers, and Portfolio Analysts on a busy investment and trading floor.
• Troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate production issues affecting front-office desks.
• Build trusted relationships with business stakeholders and represent their needs to technology teams.
• Manage incident and problem processes, including escalation, root-cause analysis, preventative measures, documentation, and ITIL follow-through.
• Provide accurate status reporting and issue tracking across IT and business partners.
• Partner with delivery teams to develop timely, scalable, and high-quality business solutions.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in application support within financial services.
• Experience supporting Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Analysts in a trading-floor environment.
• Experience with financial services and trading systems such as Charles River IMS, Aladdin, ThinkFolio, Bloomberg, FlexTrade, or FIX.
• Knowledge of financial instruments, investment data concepts, investor workflows, and portfolio construction.
• Hands-on SQL skills for data extraction, analysis, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Strong communication, presentation, analytical, problem-solving, multitasking, and attention-to-detail skills.

Nice to have

• Experience using AI tools such as Claude or GitHub Copilot.
• CFA Institute Investment Foundations Certificate, CFA Charter, or progress toward a CFA qualification.
