Tier 2 Buyer (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Newton Aycliffe, United Kingdom

Salary: £36,000–£38,000 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Manage direct procurement of production components and indirect procurement of goods and services.
• Negotiate supplier terms, prices, quantities, lead times, and contractual conditions.
• Manage supplier relationships, vendor selection, consolidation, performance reporting, and improvement plans.
• Review safety stock levels and manage product phase-in and phase-out activities.
• Lead cost-saving initiatives through spend analysis, PPV reporting, supplier selection, and strategic sourcing.
• Support CAPEX projects, maintain purchasing data and vendor records in Priority ERP, and prepare international shipping documentation.

Requirements

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment and managing high-volume purchasing activities.
• Demonstrable experience in procurement or purchasing.
• Experience conducting spend analysis and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Experience supporting cross-functional CAPEX project teams and procuring metal or machined components.
• CIPS Level 4 qualification or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work on-site in Newton Aycliffe.
