Category Buyer II (P&E Oil and Water Pumps & Valvetrain)

Location: Peterborough and Stafford, United Kingdom; onsite five days a week. Occasional domestic and international travel to suppliers and hirify.global facilities may be required, with flexibility to support global suppliers across multiple time zones.

Salary: £49,519 per annum, dependent upon experience.

What you will do

• Develop and execute category and sourcing strategies for P&E oil and water pumps and valvetrain components.
• Work with global suppliers and business stakeholders to improve quality, cost, delivery, supplier performance, and supply resilience.
• Lead commercial discussions, contract negotiations, supplier reviews, and relationship management activities.
• Use market intelligence, spend analysis, and supplier performance data to support strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with product, manufacturing, and supply chain teams on operational and commercial priorities.
• Lead or support cost reduction, supplier development, process improvement, and supply continuity projects.

Requirements

• Experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier management, or a related business function.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret supplier, operational, and financial data.
• Experience managing supplier relationships, performance, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
• Experience with sourcing activities, contract management, commercial negotiations, and procurement processes in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Advanced proficiency with data analytics, procurement systems, and Microsoft Excel or similar tools.
• Ability to work onsite five days a week in Peterborough or Stafford, United Kingdom; visa sponsorship is not available.
