Software Engineer II - Data Platform (GCP)

Location: Portugal. Fully remote outside Porto, Maia, Matosinhos, Gondomar, Valongo, and Vila Nova de Gaia; candidates residing within these municipalities must work in-office three days per week.

What you will do

• Contribute to the next generation of the cloud contact center SaaS platform and AI-enabled customer experience applications.
• Design and develop highly available, scalable, and reliable infrastructure for microservices.
• Build and operate cloud applications and data services on Google Cloud Platform.
• Apply open-source tools and cloud technologies to solve complex platform challenges involving distributed systems, networking, storage, and security.
• Develop application-level knowledge, contribute to system design, troubleshoot deeply across the software stack, and provide production support.
• Collaborate with software engineers in a continuous delivery environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software development experience in a Java team using Spring Boot.
• At least 1 year of experience with a cloud platform and Spring Cloud; AWS, Azure, or GCP experience is required, with GCP experience emphasized.
• Hands-on experience designing and building highly available, scalable applications in GCP.
• Hands-on experience with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, App Engine, and Cloud SQL.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and continuous delivery of production applications on Google Cloud Platform.
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field, plus understanding of cloud architecture, distributed systems, networking, event processing, large-scale storage, and security.
