Senior Software Engineer - Java (Media Platform)

Location: New York City, hybrid; three days in the office per week

Salary: $128,500–$207,000 USD annual cash compensation

What you will do

• Design systems and components for a scalable, reliable, secure, and flexible media platform.
• Own complex engineering projects from design through delivery.
• Build and improve capabilities for processing, compressing, storing, streaming, and serving images, video, and audio.
• Ensure availability and reliability for systems used by hirify.global customers and businesses.
• Collaborate with upstream, downstream, and cross-company engineering teams on platform solutions.
• Integrate LLM and GenAI technologies, mentor engineers, and participate in the production on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend development experience with Java and Spring in cloud environments and microservices architectures.
• Strong experience developing web applications and RESTful APIs.
• Experience building large-scale, fault-tolerant, distributed systems and understanding transaction control and consistency models.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases such as CockroachDB and MongoDB.
• Experience with cloud services for storage, identity and access management, monitoring, analytics, messaging, and databases; GCP experience is preferred.
• Experience with media content management, media standards, CDN technologies, and caching architectures.
