Java Backend Developer (Spring)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal — hybrid, with 3 days per week at the office

Salary: €1,600–€1,900 gross/month, including fixed and variable compensation, meal allowance, remote work allowance, and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop and enhance scalable, high-performing backend software components using Java Spring.
• Execute development tasks independently while applying software development best practices and standards.
• Identify recurring technical patterns, analyse technical challenges, and propose effective solutions.
• Collaborate with team members to continuously improve software components and development processes.
• Participate actively in Sprint Planning and Review sessions and contribute solutions to development discussions.
• Share technical knowledge and support team goals and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Strong or expert proficiency in Java Spring.
• Experience developing and enhancing backend software components.
• Knowledge of modern software development and Agile practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• English proficiency at minimum C1 level.
• Availability to work 3 days per week at the Lisbon office.

Nice to have

• Microservices architecture experience.
• Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS).
• Docker and Kubernetes architecture.
• MongoDB and MySQL.
