Field Service Engineer (New Zealand)

Location: Auckland, New Zealand; remote from home within New Zealand. The role supports customers across New Zealand and may assist in Australia when required.

What you will do

• Provide daily service support to the existing customer base, aiming for first-time fixes, higher instrument throughput, and reduced downtime.
• Manage customer interactions, service calls, escalations, follow-up, and accurate service documentation.
• Maintain re-certification records and follow procedures supporting ISO audits and reporting standards.
• Meet revenue goals, grow field service maintenance agreements, generate equipment leads, and maintain car boot stock inventory.
• Identify opportunities for additional services, reagents, consumables, and new equipment in partnership with the sales team.
• Drive continuous improvement through daily management, monthly KPIs, and collaboration with internal and external experts.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent in Biomedical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of prior field service experience in a related field is preferred.
• Strong deductive reasoning, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of flow cytometry, liquid handlers, and centrifugation is desirable.
• Ability to work remotely from New Zealand and support customer requirements across the region.

Nice to have

• High computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Office.
• Commercial ability to resolve customer issues quickly while understanding customer perception and business impact.
• Experience managing call escalations from identification through resolution.
