Industrial Engineer, Manpower

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; on-site work required. Must be able to work all required shifts and be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $72,480–$121,440 for salary grade 6; $84,480–$141,360 for salary grade 7; $96,720–$162,120 for salary grade 8.

What you will do

• Develop and install direct and indirect labor standards, methods, and production measurements.
• Track labor utilization, line balancing, staffing levels, absenteeism coverage, and labor allocations.
• Evaluate ergonomics, process constraints, equipment cycle times, plant methods, layouts, material handling, and routing.
• Conduct time-and-motion and MODAPTS studies, develop cycle-line layouts in AutoCAD, and lead workstation methodization and cycle-time improvement projects.
• Prepare cost estimates and cost-saving project proposals while identifying labor-efficiency opportunities.
• Coordinate with production supervision, hourly employees, the UAW, and plant senior management on job disputes, training plans, staffing, and operational performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of related experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.
• Ability to work all required shifts.
• At least 3 years of related experience is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is preferred.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or industrial management.
• MODAPTS certification.
• GSPAS knowledge.
