Manufacturing Industrial Optimization Engineer I

Location: Portland, Oregon, US. Hybrid schedule: 4 days per week in-office and 1 day remote. Travel: 15–25% within the US and Mexico. Relocation assistance is not available.

Salary: $71,000–$91,000 USD annually, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Support new product and industrialization projects from design concepts through production startup.
• Develop, maintain, and update engineered labor standards and labor estimates.
• Review product designs and recommend changes that improve installation labor and ergonomics.
• Use LEAN methods to design new processes and work cells, eliminate waste, and improve efficiency.
• Conduct time and motion studies and provide engineering and economic analysis for facilities, workflows, equipment, and processes.
• Develop manufacturing and warehouse layouts for product launches, capacity expansion, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Process, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical education; 4+ years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
• Knowledge of manufacturing, LEAN, process optimization, and quality methods.
• Ability to interpret engineering diagrams and develop labor estimates or standards from design specifications and manufacturing processes.
• Strong cross-functional communication, collaboration, organization, and analytical skills.
• Advanced English speaking, reading, and writing skills required.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the US; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience leading projects.
• Intermediate Spanish or additional language skills.
• Experience with MS Excel, OneNote, MS Project, or MS Visio.
• Knowledge of simulation, data visualization, and analytical applications.
