MBA Strategic Sourcing Intern, Technology

Location: San Diego, California; hybrid work at an hirify.global office is required

Base pay: $36–$53/hour; a San Diego range of $37–$56.50/hour is also listed.

What you will do

• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives supporting the IT organization and business transformation.
• Develop sourcing strategies and manage end-to-end sourcing projects, including RFPs, proofs of concept, and negotiations.
• Assess and optimize technology spend across software, hardware, data, AI, SaaS, telecommunications, and emerging technologies.
• Conduct total-cost-of-ownership analyses and identify opportunities for cost optimization, operational improvement, and risk mitigation.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders and external technology vendors.
• Evaluate strategic opportunities and present recommendations to leadership.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an MBA program focused on finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
• Must be legally authorized to work full-time in the United States for the entire internship.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid environment at an hirify.global office; a relocation stipend will be provided.
• Preferred 1–3 years of technology strategic sourcing experience.
• Experience with ERP and Source-to-Pay tools, contract development and management, and negotiations with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, develop business cases, analyze technology spend, and work with global vendors.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AI tools and interest in applying AI to real-world problems.
• Experience delivering cost reductions and productivity improvements.
• Knowledge of software licensing, hardware procurement contracts, and vendor management practices.
• Strong financial modeling, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
