Procurement Operations Business Partner, Technology (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA or Seattle, WA; hybrid policy requires staff to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time

What you will do

• Own a high-volume purchasing portfolio covering business applications, SaaS tools, cloud and infrastructure services, and engineering tools.
• Guide purchase requests from intake through vendor security review, legal contracting, purchase order issuance, renewals, true-ups, and license changes.
• Structure purchase orders with accurate vendors, contracting entities, GL accounts, cost centers, service periods, and billing models.
• Own open purchase order reconciliation, receipts, invoice holds, month-end accrual reviews, audit support, and spend reporting.
• Partner with Accounting, Accounts Payable, Security, Legal, engineers, IT, and business stakeholders to keep purchases compliant and accurate.
• Improve procurement playbooks, intake workflows, license optimization, and requester support using Claude and AI automation.

Requirements

• Proven experience owning a high-volume purchasing portfolio end to end in a procure-to-pay and intake platform.
• Working knowledge of accrual accounting, accruals and reversals, service periods, cutoffs, prepaid versus expense treatment, GL coding, and cost centers.
• Experience purchasing and managing software or SaaS at scale across seat-based, usage-based, and tiered subscription models.
• Experience managing the full tool and vendor lifecycle from intake and security review through contracting, renewal, and sunset.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or relevant experience.
• Visa sponsorship is available, subject to role and candidate eligibility.

Nice to have

• 7+ years of procurement operations, purchasing, or vendor operations supporting IT, engineering, or business systems.
• Background in accounting, accounts payable, or month-end close.
• Experience with Zip, Workday Financials, or Ironclad.
• Experience with open PO reconciliation, accrual reviews, software asset management, or license optimization.
• Experience designing tiered intake and approval frameworks.
