Technical Project Management Intern (Summer 2027)

Location: San Francisco, United States; onsite role

Base hourly pay: $29 per hour

What you will do

• Support program management from concept through completion for internal R&D projects and multi-spacecraft missions.
• Run risk management processes, including risk documentation, burndown tracking, and risk-closure approvals.
• Facilitate headcount tracking and forecasting.
• Plan and organize internal program reviews covering schedule trends, risks, and key program requirements.
• Work with engineers to develop schedules for subsystems and hardware boxes.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a four-year university; the internship typically lasts twelve weeks.
• B.S. in aerospace engineering or an equivalent technical degree such as physics or applied mathematics.
• Strong internal and external communication skills.
• Strong organization and coordination skills across multiple tracks and groups.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, overcome obstacles, document tactical plans, and prioritize multiple tasks.
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee or other protected individual status is required.

Nice to have

• Leadership in university programs, clubs, or technical projects.
• Space systems or hardware experience.
• Familiarity with Smartsheet, Jira, and Confluence.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and basic data cleansing.
