Manufacturing Engineer Intern (Aerospace Manufacturing)

Location: Saddle Brook, New Jersey, United States; onsite shop-floor work required

What you will do

• Support safe, efficient, productive, and economical manufacturing operations through daily troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Develop and maintain routings, tool lists, fixtures, process instructions, standard work, and manufacturing requirements.
• Design and implement tooling, fixture, equipment, layout, material-flow, and process improvements.
• Drive waste reduction using lean and CBS methodology, value-stream mapping, and continuous-improvement plans.
• Address Andon stoppages, identify countermeasures using the 5 Why method, and resolve daily manufacturing process problems.
• Support new product and process implementation, operator training, capital-equipment installation, and cost-reduction projects.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a B.S. in Engineering or a related degree.
• Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software.
• Ability to understand process and product specifications.
• Basic understanding of industrial assembly, fabrication, and machining processes.

Nice to have

• Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S practices.
• Proficiency with data analysis, statistics, and applied mathematics.
• Working experience with Autodesk Inventor Professional.
