Patient Access Concierge (Healthcare)

Location: Remote, associated with Albany, New York, 12208

Salary: $17.25–$23.00 per hour, based on experience and location.

What you will do

• Register patients and schedule appointments and surgeries.
• Verify patient identification, demographic details, insurance coverage, and clinical and financial information.
• Accept point-of-service payments and provide payment estimates or guidance on payment options.
• Enter accurate patient information into hospital information systems and process insurance documentation.
• Educate patients and families on registration kiosks and online systems.
• Identify routine issues and escalate them to the Lead Patient Access Concierge.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; an associate degree is preferred.
• One to three years of experience in a hospital, clinic, insurance company, managed care organization, healthcare financial services, or a comparable customer service environment.
• Knowledge of insurance programs, regulations, billing processes, managed care contracts, and coordination of benefits is preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding is preferred.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Strong communication, data entry, organization, accuracy, attention to detail, independence, and time management skills.
