Medical Assistant - Family Medicine Part-time

What you will do

• Facilitate efficient patient flow by escorting and identifying patients, preparing them for examinations, collecting vital signs, and updating clinical information.
• Assist physicians and other practitioners with ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, procedure trays, specimen collection, and CLIA-waived testing.
• Prepare, disinfect, sterilize, and restock examination rooms, equipment, instruments, vaccines, medications, and supplies.
• Communicate professionally with patients and the care team in person and by phone while safeguarding patient confidentiality.
• Perform delegated procedures and specialty-specific duties safely and efficiently.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current medical assistant certification or written proof of eligibility for an approved certification examination.
• American Heart Association-accredited Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
• Within the first six months of employment, obtain an approved CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA certification after up to two test attempts; certification is a condition of employment.
• Zero to two years of relevant experience and strong computer skills.

Nice to have

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
• One to two years of ambulatory care experience.
• Experience with electronic medical records.
