R&D Chemist

Location: Onsite role associated with the New Haven and Hartford, United States markets.

Salary: $71,000–$90,000 annually, plus a performance-related bonus.

What you will do

• Research, develop, and formulate surface treatment products for printed circuit boards, molded interconnects, connectors, and IC substrates.
• Apply knowledge of resin systems, chemistry, polymers, patents, and scientific literature to support new technology development.
• Perform hands-on laboratory research and use physical and chemical analysis to evaluate materials and formulations.
• Prepare presentations and reports that translate complex technical findings into clear results and proposals.
• Participate in safety, process improvement, problem-solving, and cross-functional workgroup activities.
• Communicate and document experimental work while following EH&S standards, company policies, and applicable laws.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry, polymer or materials science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of technical research experience.
• Knowledge of the fundamentals of physical and chemical analysis.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
• High standards for laboratory safety and compliance with EH&S procedures.

Nice to have

• Experience with R&D instrumental laboratories and research laboratory environments.
• Experience working in diverse, multicultural teams across global sites.
