Vice President, Investor Relations & Corporate Communications (Biotech)

Location: Onsite in South San Francisco, California, with four days per week onsite required

Salary: $309,000–$381,000 per year

What you will do

• Establish and lead the Investor Relations and Corporate Communications function during the company’s transition toward commercial-stage operations.
• Develop investor relations, corporate communications, reputation, and enterprise narrative strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
• Lead investor engagement, earnings communications, investor conferences, roadshows, executive messaging, presentations, press releases, and corporate milestone communications.
• Advise the CEO, CFO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board on investor engagement, reputation management, disclosure, and external communications.
• Build communications governance, operating processes, systems, infrastructure, and a scalable multi-year operating model.
• Recruit and develop the function, manage external agencies and strategic partners, and coordinate communications across commercial, clinical, regulatory, legal, finance, and human resources teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Communications, Life Sciences, or a related field; an MBA or advanced scientific degree is preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in investor relations, corporate communications, equity research, media, or related roles in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals.
• Significant experience supporting publicly traded biotechnology companies and understanding drug development, clinical development, regulatory pathways, and capital markets.
• Experience building or significantly expanding Investor Relations or Corporate Communications organizations and supporting the transition from clinical-stage to commercial-stage operations.
• Experience with clinical, regulatory, financing, strategic corporate milestones, capital markets transactions, and commercial product launches.
• Ability to work onsite at the South San Francisco headquarters four days per week.
