Electrical Engineer (Space Systems)

Location: On-site in Los Angeles (Hawthorne), California, United States. Occasional travel required.

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 per year.

What you will do

• Own avionics systems, subsystems, and components from requirements definition through deployment and flight execution.
• Conduct trade studies and first-order analyses to establish system requirements.
• Define qualification testing criteria according to spaceflight testing standards.
• Validate hardware through testing in simulated launch and lunar-surface environments.
• Work with electrical, thermal, and software teams to meet integration timelines and system milestones.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience developing electrical systems for space applications.
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, and electrical circuit simulation.
• Experience setting up and conducting electrical tests using multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and data-acquisition equipment.
• Strong technical communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Must meet U.S. Government export-control requirements: be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or be eligible to obtain the required U.S. authorizations.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience developing electrical systems for space applications.
• Experience owning and delivering spaceflight hardware across the full product lifecycle.
• Experience with embedded systems, space-environment testing, power-system design, rapid board prototyping, or radiation effects and mitigation.
