Salary: USD 39.15–50.89 per hour

What you will do

• Perform pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic workflows in molecular biology and cytogenetics laboratories.
• Collect, receive, evaluate, process, store, and transfer patient specimens and related materials.
• Prepare specimens using tissue culture, cell harvesting, PCR, DNA and RNA extraction, and slide preparation procedures.
• Perform molecular and cytogenetics testing, prioritize workload, and meet defined turnaround times.
• Review, interpret, verify, release, amend, and report test results while following critical-value and confidentiality protocols.
• Maintain instruments, reagents, quality control records, billing information, safety standards, and laboratory documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology, or Allied Health.
• At least one year of experience in a molecular or cytogenetics clinical laboratory, or eligibility to take the ASCP Molecular Biology or Cytogenetics certification examination.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures, quality systems, safety procedures, and patient confidentiality requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot test-system issues, recognize unusual results, complete follow-up actions, and escalate unresolved problems.
• Ability to work a full-time evening shift and participate in training and new test development.

Nice to have

• MB or CG ASCP certification.
