Water & Wastewater Treatment Engineer (PE)

What you will do

• Lead and support the planning, design, evaluation, and optimization of water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Develop and review process flow diagrams, plans, specifications, technical memoranda, and other engineering design packages.
• Prepare engineering reports, feasibility studies, master plans, and permitting documentation.
• Perform process calculations and evaluations for filtration, disinfection, biological treatment, solids handling, and odor control systems.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, mechanical, and structural disciplines to deliver integrated treatment solutions.
• Support proposals and client interviews while mentoring junior engineers and providing technical quality assurance.

Requirements

• 4+ years of progressive water and/or wastewater treatment engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience or familiarity with treatment process modeling, permitting, and regulatory coordination.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in both office and field environments, including occasional exposure to weather, construction hazards, noise, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Experience with facility upgrades, state and federal water/wastewater regulations, and regulatory permitting.
• Proficiency with hydraulic and treatment design software.
• Experience coordinating with clients, regulators, and internal teams.
