Mid-Level Linux System Administrator (DOD)

Location: On-site in Huntsville, Alabama, or Colorado Springs, Colorado; remote work is not available. Travel required up to 10% of the time. No relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $95,000–$135,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and relevant certifications.

What you will do

• Administer Linux servers, workstations, and enterprise operating environments.
• Manage Linux patching, configuration management, automated provisioning, and system hardening using Red Hat Satellite and Ansible.
• Deploy and automate physical and virtual environments with VMware vSphere/vCenter, Bash, and Python.
• Administer OpenShift container platforms and maintain repositories and registries.
• Perform DISA STIG remediation, secure baseline management, monitoring, backups, restoration, upgrades, and break/fix support.
• Execute authorized secure data transfers, document procedures, and coordinate system administration activities with customer stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of directly related Linux systems administration experience, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, 8, or 9.
• Experience with Linux configuration management, automated provisioning, patching, virtualization, Bash or Python scripting, identity management, directory services, networking, and storage.
• Current DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification or higher.
• Active DoW Secret security clearance required; ability to obtain an active DoW Top Secret clearance required.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, troubleshooting, documentation, and customer communication skills.

Nice to have

• RHCSA or RHCE certification.
• Windows Server, Active Directory, WSUS, SCCM, Group Policy, and PowerShell experience.
• Experience with certificate servers, PXE/Kickstart, RSA, PKI, BMC Remedy, and configuration management processes.
