Senior Specialist, System Administrator

Location: Rochester, New York, or Melbourne, Florida, United States. Onsite role with up to 20% offsite travel and occasional overtime.

Salary: $79,500–$147,500 per year.

What you will do

• Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, upgrade, and patch Linux systems in secure program areas.
• Administer Linux environments and NetApp storage while maintaining reliability, data integrity, and availability.
• Remediate vulnerabilities and maintain compliance with industry standards.
• Monitor system health, identify performance issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop scripts and deployment automation tools using Bash or PowerShell.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and management teams and lead local IT projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience, graduate degree with at least 4 years, or 10 years of relevant experience without a degree.
• At least 4 years of Linux and/or NetApp systems administration experience.
• Current and active TS/SCI security clearance and CI Polygraph are required.
• Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
• CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or an approved DoD 8570 IAT Level I or higher certification.
• Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and support up to 20% offsite travel.

Nice to have

• Experience with Nessus Security Center, Cisco networking, network protocols, Windows DFS, Active Directory, or Commvault.
• Experience with the NIST Risk Management Framework and VMware or similar virtualization solutions.
• Experience with Ansible automation.
