Salary: $35.88–$42.71 per hour, with annual pay of $74,622–$88,836 depending on seniority

What you will do
- Inspect, repair, and maintain diesel locomotive engines and mechanical components.
- Repair running gear, including wheels, springs, hangers, brake rigging, and traction motors.
- Test and restore brake systems, safety appliances, couplers, draft systems, air compressors, safety valves, lube oil pumps, fuel systems, radiators, and shutters.
- Install, disassemble, assemble, repair, and replace locomotive diesel engine components.
- Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, diagnose malfunctions, and support safe locomotive operation.
- Work safely around heavy machinery, loud noises, fumes, uneven surfaces, and changing weather conditions.
Requirements
- Must be able to report for duty at the Pasco, WA work location.
- BNSF cannot provide sponsorship or assistance for employment authorization, including H-1B, STEM OPT/CPT, or TN status.
- At least 18 years old by the anticipated start date.
- Ability to read, write, speak, hear, and understand English.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work at heights, and use hand tools.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to follow safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.

- Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week with three 8-hour shifts in a 24/7 mechanical shop.

Hiring process
