Diesel Maintenance Technician B

What you will do

• Repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks and equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, drivetrain, steering, engines, and HVAC components.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and light engine repairs on heavy-duty vehicles.
• Provide line maintenance welding and fabrication, as well as basic tire replacement, rotation, and tread-depth checks.
• Use electronic diagnostic tools to identify malfunctions and safely provide road service when required.
• Complete company training programs and support the safe, efficient return of equipment to operation.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in technician work involving gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment, or graduation from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next three months.
• Experience with or knowledge of Class 1–5 light/medium-duty and Class 7–8 heavy-duty trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and perform basic inspections with limited supervision.
• Working knowledge of suspension, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, drivetrains, and diesel emissions.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Nice to have

• ASE T1–T8 certifications.
• Commercial Driver’s License.
