TL;DR
AIC Systems Test Engineering Co-Op (MedTech): Developing and executing system-level integration and regression tests for the Automated Impella Controller across software, optical, and hardware interfaces with an accent on cybersecurity enhancements, CAPA support, and regulatory compliance. Focus on investigating field issues, reproducing failures, supporting root-cause analysis, and preparing verification evidence for safe global deployments.

Location: Danvers, Massachusetts, United States; onsite role. Applicants must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and must not require current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Salary: $23.50–$52.50 per hour, depending on program year, discipline, degree, and experience.

What you will do

  • Develop, maintain, and execute system-level integration and regression test plans for software, optical, and hardware interfaces.
  • Investigate field-reported issues in the lab and create reproducible test cases.
  • Support root-cause analysis for escalations and high-priority CAPA investigations.
  • Prepare verification evidence and support change control and release activities, including updates to BOMs, work instructions, and drawings.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, Software, and Manufacturing teams on verification strategies and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with system-level risk assessments, design changes, and regulatory submissions.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work permanently for any employer in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a directly related discipline as a junior, senior, or graduate student.
  • Strong design, testing, analytical, engineering, and statistical analysis skills.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail demonstrated through academic, project, or work experience.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of SolidWorks or a comparable CAD program.
