Senior Software Assurance Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA or Mountain View, CA; hybrid work with at least 3 days per week in the office

Salary: $162,000–$260,000 per year in Mountain View, CA; $146,000–$234,000 per year in Pittsburgh, PA

What you will do

• Develop, document, and continuously improve software processes aligned with ASPICE, ISO 26262, and other relevant standards.
• Plan and execute internal audits covering requirements, architecture, and test processes.
• Own the audit findings register, drive corrective action closure, and escalate unresolved non-conformances.
• Develop and maintain software quality performance reports and metrics infrastructure.
• Improve deficiency management processes and ensure non-conformances are tracked and resolved.
• Lead root cause analyses, evaluate corrective actions, and present quality analyses and audit reports to engineering teams and leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, quality engineering, or QMS process management.
• Experience in a safety-critical domain such as automotive, aerospace, robotics, or medical devices.
• Strong understanding of Software Quality Management Systems, with deep knowledge of ASPICE and working knowledge of ISO 26262 Part 6.
• Hands-on experience conducting process audits and leading structured root cause analysis; ability to analyze and visualize quality data.
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence, plus strong communication, presentation, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in a relevant technical field.
• Familiarity with UL 4600 and ISO/SAE 21434.
• Experience with Jama, AWS services such as QuickSight, S3, and Lambda, and process or training material development.
• Experience supporting quality processes during the transition from development to commercial deployment in a safety-critical environment.
