Accounting Manager (AI)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, USA

Base salary: $110,000–$160,000 per year, plus potential bonuses, equity grants, and benefits.

Cybersecurity company operating an AI-native platform that protects organizations from breaches and processes large-scale security data.

What you will do

• Own internal-use software accounting under ASC 350-40, including capitalization, amortization, impairment assessment, journal entries, and variance analysis.
• Manage assigned monthly and quarterly close activities, close calendars, reconciliations, reporting, and blocker escalation.
• Design, document, and maintain SOX controls; coordinate walkthroughs, evidence requests, and audit procedures.
• Identify and deploy AI-assisted tools, automation, and improved workflows to accelerate close and reduce manual work.
• Manage, mentor, and develop 1–2 Senior Accountants.
• Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Billing, Legal, Finance Transformation, IT, Internal Audit, and external auditors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CPA required or actively in pursuit.
• 6–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a manager or lead capacity.
• Strong command of US GAAP, including deep knowledge of ASC 350-40 and SOX-compliant accounting processes.
• Experience leading accounting teams, working with offshore teams, and serving as an auditor liaison.
• Experience deploying accounting tools, automation solutions, or AI-enabled workflows.

Nice to have

• Big Four or national public accounting firm experience.
• Experience in high-tech, SaaS, or rapidly growing public companies.
• Experience with NetSuite, close management tools, reporting tools, advanced Excel or Google Sheets.
• Exposure to Python, SQL, RPA, or other modern accounting productivity tools.
