Director, Corporate Strategy (AI/Data Storage)

Location: San Jose, California, with flexibility to work remotely within established company policies. The role requires 15–25% travel to meet internal stakeholders, partners, and attend industry events.

Salary: $166,900–$222,500 per year.

What you will do

• Lead market intelligence across total addressable market sizing, customer landscapes, market dynamics, competition, and substitution threats.
• Develop analytical models and industry perspectives on AI-driven data growth, cloud capital expenditure cycles, storage tiering economics, and technology shifts.
• Partner with venture teams to evaluate emerging markets, hirify.global’s right to play, and opportunities requiring new capabilities, acquisitions, or partnerships.
• Recommend which opportunities merit further diligence or investment and define the indicators that should change those decisions.
• Support quarterly market reviews, annual strategy cycles, long-range planning, pricing, capacity, roadmap, account planning, and business cases.
• Manage external industry research relationships and maintain evidence-based views of competitors’ capacity, technology roadmaps, cost positions, and commercial behavior.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in top-tier management consulting, in-house corporate strategy, or market intelligence.
• Experience building market models and projections from third-party research, primary data, and expert interviews.
• Track record of leading complex strategy projects from hypothesis development through recommendations.
• Strong quantitative rigor, financial acumen, strategic thinking, structured problem-solving, and executive communication skills.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and present narratives and recommendations to C-suite and Board audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, physics, economics, or a related analytical field, or comparable experience.

• Domain expertise in semiconductor, technology, or electronics industries.

• MBA or equivalent experience.
