What you will do

  • Own end-to-end application testing of high C-rate battery packs and SST hardware.
  • Support integration testing at pilot sites, including EMS-to-SST communication and grid-forming coordination.
  • Develop and maintain Python-based test automation to command power converters and log data.
  • Operate high-power test equipment, including chillers, contactors, and protection hardware.
  • Review field performance from pilot deployments and collaborate with software teams on product improvements.
  • Integrate SST hardware with commercial DAS, SCADA, and EMS systems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in power electronics, energy storage, or grid-intensive environments.
  • Strong grasp of DC circuit fundamentals and ability to correlate test data with simulations.
  • Proficiency in Python for test automation and data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of BMS, DC pre-charge, contactors, and thermal cooling loops.
  • Experience with lab instrumentation like oscilloscopes and power analyzers.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN and Modbus TCP.

Nice to have

  • Experience with solid state transformers or grid-forming inverters.
  • Familiarity with utility-scale BESS commissioning.
  • Hands-on experience with simulation tools like LTspice, Simscape, or PLECS.
