Director, Software Engineering (MFT)

Annual pay range: $185,400–$210,000 USD

What you will do

• Lead the strategy, architecture, optimization, and secure scaling of the Digital Gateway using IBM Sterling File Gateway and related MFT components.
• Own internal and external file transfer operations, including data routing, transformation, delivery, security, and compliance.
• Direct engineering, maintenance, support, and modernization planning for the CLEO Harmony legacy EDE application.
• Build and manage globally distributed onshore, offshore, and vendor-supported engineering teams.
• Oversee Level 1–3 production support, incident management, root-cause analysis, escalations, and SLA performance.
• Implement proactive monitoring and alerting to identify and resolve file transfer bottlenecks.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, B2B integration, and enterprise IT operations, including 5+ years in leadership or management.
• Deep experience with IBM Sterling File Gateway, Sterling B2B Integrator, and related IBM MFT components.
• Strong knowledge of CLEO Harmony or comparable legacy MFT enterprise solutions.
• Experience leading hybrid onshore, offshore, and vendor teams in a follow-the-sun support model.
• Experience managing 24/7 production support, critical incidents, root-cause analysis, and mission-critical gateway environments.
• Deep knowledge of SFTP, AS2, HTTPS, FTPS, encryption, PKI, certificates, and data security standards.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience with cloud environments, particularly GCP, and migrating legacy MFT workloads to the cloud.
• Financial acumen for managing budgets, vendor contracts, and software licensing.
