Archaeologist Principal Investigator / Project Manager (Cultural Resources)

Location: Remote within the United States; projects include Texas, the Midwest, and the greater Pacific Northwest. Must be eligible to be employed in the US.

What you will do

• Lead cultural resources and archaeological projects, including surveys, monitoring, testing, data recovery, historical research, preservation activities, reporting, site forms, and artifact curation.
• Direct field studies, coordinate project mobilization and demobilization, and assemble and supervise field teams.
• Support Section 106 and Section 110 of the NHPA, environmental planning, permitting, consultation, and cultural resources analysis.
• Develop proposals and business opportunities, including scopes, schedules, budgets, and technical strategies.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, invoicing, staffing, and quality review.
• Coordinate with clients, colleagues, agencies, Tribal representatives, and project stakeholders while mentoring cultural resources personnel.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field.
• At least five years of supervisory experience; preferably ten years of progressively responsible cultural resources experience.
• Experience with cultural resources management in the desert Southwest and Intermountain West, including work with architectural historians.
• Familiarity with modern GPS technology and the ability to use it in remote locations.
• Strong project planning, management, communication, writing, problem-solving, organization, and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, satisfactory drug and alcohol testing, and eligibility for employment in the United States required.

Nice to have

• Ability to be permitted in Texas or throughout the Midwest.
• Experience providing cultural resources support across the continental United States.
• Registered Professional Archaeologist credential.
