Senior Director of Network Software Services (AI Cloud)

Location: Hybrid in the Bellevue or San Francisco office, with office presence required 4 days per week; Tuesday is the designated work-from-home day.

Salary: $399,000–$531,000 annual salary for the Bellevue location.

What you will do

• Lead teams building network software services for monitoring, security, performance, and availability.
• Own the architecture and operational excellence of distributed network systems, control planes, and data paths.
• Set the multi-year technical strategy for network software services and improve security posture, observability, and traffic engineering.
• Hire, develop, and retain engineering leaders and software engineers while shaping the organization as it scales.
• Partner with network engineering, operations, capacity, product, and technical leadership teams to improve cloud connectivity.
• Set standards for SLOs, on-call health, incident response, blameless postmortems, code quality, and operational reliability.

Requirements

• 8+ years building highly available, large-scale distributed systems for cloud infrastructure or enterprise network architecture.
• 5+ years leading software engineering teams and 2+ years managing managers.
• Software engineering background with production experience and strong architecture, technical tradeoff, and code quality judgment.
• Deep expertise in BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, software-defined networking, traffic engineering, zero-trust security, CI/CD automation, and AWS or OCI.
• Experience building and scaling engineering organizations delivering mission-critical cloud connectivity.
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with GPU cloud, HPC, or AI/ML infrastructure.
• Familiarity with large-scale data center or cloud networking, fabric build-out, capacity modeling, or network supply chain.
• Experience with networking fundamentals and configuration management.
• Previous experience at a high-growth infrastructure or cloud company.
