Engineering Manager, Enterprise (AI Security)

Location: Hybrid in Pittsburgh, United States

Salary: $255,000–$315,000 per year, plus a performance-based bonus and equity package.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop an infrastructure engineering team.
• Set technical direction for enterprise infrastructure solutions in collaboration with engineering leadership.
• Oversee highly available backend services, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure supporting the AI security platform.
• Guide infrastructure operations across Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, Azure, networking, storage, and compute.
• Improve internal platform services, infrastructure tooling, observability, incident response, deployment, and operational excellence.
• Partner with machine learning, security, and product engineering teams while shaping long-term architecture and hiring plans.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building enterprise solutions, backend infrastructure, or production distributed systems.
• 2+ years of experience managing, mentoring, or leading software engineering teams.
• Strong background in infrastructure, distributed systems, backend engineering, or platform engineering.
• Strong programming experience in C/C++, Go, Python, Rust, Java, or a similar language.
• Production experience with Kubernetes and modern cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Deep understanding of networking, containers, service orchestration, scalable architectures, APIs, microservices, asynchronous systems, reliability, observability, security, and performance.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting machine learning or LLM workloads.
• Experience with Terraform, Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, or similar distributed data systems.
• Experience building internal developer platforms or platform engineering organizations.
• Knowledge of cloud security, infrastructure hardening, or zero-trust architectures.
• Experience scaling infrastructure in a high-growth startup and interest in AI safety, cybersecurity, or adversarial machine learning.
